Mexican Tarragon (Tagetes Lucida) is a half-hardy sub-shrub native to Mexico and Central America. Common names include Mexican marigold, Mexican mint marigold, Spanish tarragon, and Texas tarragon. Mexican Tarragon is a perennial growing to 0.8 m (2ft 7in) by 0.4 m (1ft 4in). It is in flower from August to September. The flowers are hermaphrodite (have both male and female organs) and are pollinated by insects. Depending on land race, the plant may be upright, while other forms appear bushy with many unbranching stems. The leaves are linear to oblong, about 3 inches (7.6 cm) long and shiny medium green.
